Stříbrný vítr - Silver Wind is a self-service guesthouse unlike any other. Five individually styled rooms, a vast garden right on the Lipno cycle path, a grill built into a full-size steam locomotive replica — and a Booking.com score of 9.2. Arrive, find your key, and the place is yours.
Silver Wind opened in 2014 as a family project with one goal: to bring back the feeling of visiting your grandmother's countryside home.
Five rooms means five groups of guests — no more. No noise, just peace and quiet. Each room has its own character: a cinema lounge with a jukebox and Nintendo Wii, a romantic suite with a bathtub, a cosy attic feel. All furniture handcrafted without chemicals.
The garden has a firepit, a salt cave, a children's pirate grove and a full-size steam locomotive replica converted into a grill — for evenings that go beyond a restaurant meal. At the self-service bar, you can pour your own Král Šumavy — a local Šumava lager — for just 28 CZK per half-litre. You won't find that price anywhere else.
The guesthouse runs on a self-service model — keys wait in the lockbox, the bar and kitchen are yours throughout your stay. Lake Lipno is 300 metres away, the cycle path runs right past the garden, and the forest starts just beyond the fence.
Comfortable rooms
Each room has air conditioning and medical mattresses for a comfortable sleep. Pillows and blankets are anti-allergenic. Televisions have blue-ray players. Movies to borrow are in the hallway. All windows have insect screens. Each room has a refrigerator, all bathrooms have ventilation.
Huge garden
The garden will delight both children and adults. On the lawn it is possible to play games that can be found in the wheelhouse. Here you will find various places for relaxation, a fireplace, a sun terrace, several grills, a garden bed, but also an adventurous children's playroom in the forest grove Pirate Island or the salt cave. There is a parking lot and a brick bicycle shed right next to it.
Strategic location
You don't have to decide whether you want to Šumava or Lipno. The guesthouse is located in the upper part of the Lipno reservoir, so you have the Šumava literally behind you. One of Lipno's main cycle paths leads right around the garden, the mushroom forest is just a few steps from the guesthouse.

Before you call
How does check-in work?
There's no reception desk at Silver Wind. Once your booking is paid, you'll receive a code for the key lockbox — arrive whenever suits you and the guesthouse is yours. Check-in from 4 PM, check-out by 10 AM.
What's included in the price?
The room rate includes accommodation, unlimited access to the self-service bar and fully equipped kitchen, free parking and WiFi. At the bar, you can pour your own Král Šumavy Šumava lager throughout your stay for just 28 CZK per half-litre — bar and kitchen expenses are settled separately at checkout.
How do I get there and where do I park?
The guesthouse is at Hůrka 68, Horní Planá — right on the Lipno cycle path between Černá v Pošumaví and Horní Planá. Our private car park fits 8 cars and is free of charge.
Can I bring a pet?
Unfortunately not — the guesthouse does not allow pets.
What is there to do nearby?
The nearest swimming beach on Lake Lipno is 800 metres from the guesthouse. The Lipno cycle path runs right past the garden — the route along the whole lake is one of the most popular in South Bohemia. For hikers, the Šumava National Park starts virtually on the doorstep. Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is 23 km away — perfect for a day trip. And mushrooms? The forest is just a short walk from the guesthouse.
